Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II
Review by CGrant
"Good looking AND fun!"
Story
You are the leader of an elite team of Rebel star fighters. Your main objective is to destroy the Imperial Empire in any means necessary, and it's not going to be easy. You must win back the balance of power. Be either Luke Skywalker or Wedge Antilles and fly a ship of your choice, either an X-wing, B-wing, Y-wing or Snowspeeder and more. You have an awesome line of ships at your disposal and the help of few teammates. You'll also be asked to defend important Rebel convoys and outposts on planets such as Hoth and even the great death star!
Gameplay
In my opinion the control is all out great. This game is very responsive and there are lots of cool moves to master. This game keeps you hooked on from start to finish. Fly through 11 heroic missions. To make things better you can even order your crew to perform certain tasks through the game. Flips and rolls are just a few of the special evasion tricks you can do with any one of cool ships. Each ship has its own special feature and he control is very easy and quick to learn.
Audio/Visual
Even the music is great! It contains all the original tunes from Star Wars and a few extras that go with the situation you're in. The graphics are simply amazing. There are highly detailed landscapes and asteroid fields with realistic looking ships and explosions that will make you feel like you're in the movies. The sound effects are great also. There are lots of voice responses including the voice of Denis Lawson, the original voice of Wedge Antilles! This game is the best I've seen so far for the Gamecube.
Replay Value
This game will keep you playing for hours at a time. To fully complete the game you must first save the Rebel Alliance and collect the medals that are rewarded after each mission. So there's lots to keep you occupied. After that you can beat some secret missions so the fun goes on for a long time. And even when you beat it the first time you'll want to do it all over again!
To Buy or Rent.
Buy! This game is worth every penny you pay because you'll get lots of high powered action and fun with this game. It is one a kind and I hope there will be many others just like it in the future!
