Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI

Review by Chabos23

"A review by a huge fan of RTKs"

Story:

Happened in histories of China. Government was under the bad influence of the 10 ennuchs, resulting a revolt of the Yellow turbans, led by Zhang Jiao. Warlords of different state opposed, started to rise...

Soon, events after events followed, all had different things in their minds. Peace, Power, Wealth & being the emperor of all. Various battles were fought, rulers destroyed, surrendered.

Introduction:

you get to control the force in a ruler style, assuming command over battles, strategies, domestic affairs. Your ultimate objective was to be one to unite the Kingdom, eliminating all the others.

Game Play:

You assume total control of your force. Everything that can be done, domestic to battles, are restricted by the number of AP. (max 255) Which is very different from the pass instalments.

Everything is done on the whole map itself, taking turns in every ten days. Process will be carried out in the ten days period.

Domestic option is a great improvement over the pass series. You can now build farms to increase harvest, markets to increase revenues, barracks to draft troops, smiths to build weapons.

Strategies and battles are more specific. Tactics can be triggered anytime by the gamers. Different APT affects the strength of damage. Terrain applies to some tactics though. Strategies can be used by units. Confuse and Mislead enemy troops, fire traps etc. Structures also included in this game, assisting in defense or attacks.

Graphics:

The graphics in this game are enhanced. With the introduction of the 3D map. General portraits are beautifully designed and Officer creation now has more choices to choose, allowing total customization.

Conclusion:

This game is cool. Is some aspects, although some really good stuffs have been opted out, its still very entertaining. Re-playability is high enough to keep one occupied for months. Plenty of unlock-ables, Skills, Portraits to keep you busy.

Its definitely a must buy game. To those who haven't tried any of the Romance series, this is a good one to start with.

Final score 7, judging from the different approach, some commendable changes & and improvements, and some regrettably features taken out. 7 is not an average score to me.
