Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King
Review by kurameow
"An addictive game overall"
Although I have only played this game for a little while, and are only up to Chapter 50...(is that low?)I find this game hard to stop playing, and regret not wanting to play more. The storyline is a bit confusing, but gameplay makes up for that fact.
~Story~
Basically, you are the son of a great king that fled his kingdom while the miasma was still around. As a result, he left you in charge. After seeing that their king is little, and inexperienced, the townspeople fear that the kingdom will be ruined. And it was. Fleeing, just like your father, you (default name: King Leo) come across a great open land with your half-clavat, half-selkie chancellor Chime and ex-knight Hugh Yurg with a crystal in the middle. The crystal grants you the power of Architek that enables you to rebuild your kingdom by memory.
~Adventurers~
Once you have an adventurer or two, you can set behests for them to go and either: defeat bosses, explore a dungeon, or fine elementite, which is what you need to use Architek.
~Morale and Townspeople~
Talking to townspeople raises morale, once the morale bar is full, you will get one sphere, which is one step closer to making your people happier. When you ring for Chime, there is an option "raise morale" or something like that, once you talk to people while glowing, they make better relationships with family members, and if you talk to adventurers, their stats are raised temporarily.
~Moogle brothers~
The moogle brothers appear in an early chapter. One moogle brother, gives you memories to build more things like parks, bakery etc. Another is there for the soul purpose of raising your morale. Basically, he just walks up and down the castle steps so you can talk to him everyday, you don't have to if you don't want to. The other Moogle brother runs the kingdom watchtower, from him you can view the entire kingdom, gather information about buildings or basic things like how to use elementite, what Archtiek is etc.
~And who could forget Pavlov~
Pavlov is a strange penguin who has an unknown past: although it has something to do with King Epitav. Pavlov keeps your records about your kingdom, adventurers and their parties. He's pretty much useless otherwise! (He seems to have an unhealthy rivalry with Hugh Yurg)
I find this game very enjoyable, and cannot wait for any further updates and attachments from Square Enix!~
