Top 10 Lists : The Top 10 Wackiest Buffs & Powerups In Weapons
Everybody likes weapons, and the more and greater the buffs or bonus, the better. Whenever you're up to a dungeon crawl or some mission to save the world from a nefarious evil or whatever, you'll never EVER (unless you're a brawler or a monk) go away without a weapon, as cool as you can get. But going through a dungeon with buffed weapons can get boring (although it hardly ever gets boring, but bear with me a little), so why not getting some wacky weapons with weird buffs you'll hardly ever use? Just for collection, you know; you're not supposed to use them...
Say that again? This weapon can do up to 9999 damage in a single blow?? But you'll get this little baby halfway the game! Yep, but it has a trick: when fired, and loosely based on lucky, the weapon will deal from 1 to whatever attacks, with total damage ranging from lame (lower than regular attack) to 9999. Weapon IS wacky, and pretty useful: that's it; until you get the real firepower.
This is a feature of a couple of weapons available for Amaterasu, and this consists on creating "bullets" by painting dots on the foes. Quite wacky and stylish, but plain worthless. Let's face it: your weapons pack one hell of a punch already (a bit too much indeed), and the Power Slash (one of the first brushtechs you get) packs even greater punch; what's the POINT in using that crap of Ink Bullet??
Yes; one of the weirdest and coolest weapons ever does deserve an entry in this Top 10 as well, and this time is comes for one of its purchaseable buffs and moves: Volume Up. In short, it's just "Bats Up": you summon more bats this way. More bats mean more damage, of course, but since it's hard to aim the bats, that's not a tier-1 move to purchase... Better get a Double Jump before the Volume Up, but once you get Volume Up, start summoning bats like crazy!!
Yeah, you surely expected something from Worms for this Top 10, and I'm not gonna disappoint you by any means. This is a weapon unable to do any damage whatsoever (by itself, that's it), but perfectly able to kick some butt, specially with proper wind. This is yet another sheep clone (you may call it Dolly if you like); a weapon you may control and trigger as you see fit. This weapon, when hitting a worm, becomes a balloon with the worm inside, and it starts to lift... Do you wonder what happens once it bursts? You're gonna suffer from high vertigo... 'til you suffer from forced landing... Best used when wind can direct the balloon to the water.
Yummy: kill anything with the fork (that's it: a kitchen fork) and eat it automatically... Geez, NO!!! You CANNOT eat HUMANS with the fork!!! Are you friggin' NUTS!?!? Anyway, it's almost the same as the knife. Pretty lame you cannot equip both.
This is so wacky that it doesn't even count as any buff whatsoever: just a talking weapon who will chittychat a little whenever you aim your weapon anywhere. Soo wacky. That weapon is lame, though, and you cannot pass the buff via SynthSphere to any other weapon you have, but it doesn't hurt to keep one (the one and only you'll ever get) with you. Ocasionally it will point some weakness.
That's weird: whenever your character get's some Limit gauge (in this game, Overdrive), you'll receive a boost in Exp instead. Pretty wacky indeed, and quite a worthless ability (just for slot-filling, since weapons in FFX can only have up to four special abilities). Just sell them; if you ever want boosts in Exp, get some Exp Up gear.
What do you say?? These weapons grant Protect, Shell or whatever to whoever they hit?? Yo, that's weird; specially for a thing that DOES DAMAGE (that's the kind of stuff you're supposed to use against yer foes). The key of these weapons is to give buffs to your allies without wasting time and MP, for free, but these things DO damage (and they do it like guns: regardless of defense). The greater the weapon, the greater the buff, but also greater damage! You'll have to use these with caution (one which grants Bubble (double max HP) has the same power as one of the most powerful Guns you can purchase... that's about 2000 damage... ouch!)
Another one from Worms; this time is the pinacle of weird. Most weapons in Worms are wacky, but also straightforward: any of them will do damage, be it from hit, from explosion, from flames or from poison (hey; that's a rhyme!). Anyway, this is just crazy! First, the victim will lose half HP (pretty neat), then it'll start to teleport whenever it's its turn, and some other stuff I can say 'cause I don't actually know! Try to get this weapon and use it in your first chance! Wackiness guaranted!
Yeah, I know... False Moustache isn't a weapon actually, it's just an accesory for Relm; but it's SOO wacky I can't help putting an entry for it! With this piece of junk, your lovely wiz kid loses Sketch (one of the wackiest abilities ever) and gets Manipulate (THE wackiest ability ever). What does that mean? No more sketch: now you're the BEASTMASTER!! You'll control any critter you find and make it use whatever command it knows to whomever you please. Knell in front of the might of the LORD OF THE BEASTS!!!
That's it: the Top 10 wackiest buffs ever. Pretty shame there's no such thing like "throw 8 sided die instead of 6 sided", "manipulate as well", "reset move", "mimick enemy skill" or something like that yet, but hey! These weapons are pretty wacky and fun, specially their traits. Try 'n' collect as much wacky weapons as you can, and afterwards tell me how are they like.
