Advance Wars
Review by DarkCobra
"A great game, make sure you have friends to play with you..."
Since you are reading my reviews, you may be wondering: Should I buy this game? The answer to this, my friend: YES.
~Graphics~: 8/10
The graphics are SNES quality, although it looks a bit repetitive with little variations of ths same terrain type (there is only two images of mountains, different CO's/Teams have different HQ images, when four forests are made in a square the image slightly changes). For some reason when some of the CO's smile their teeth are bluish. I don't know why...
~Sound~: 7/10
The sound can either be good or just plain crappy during battle, depending on who your CO is. I like Sami's and Max's BG music. The music in the menu screens is kind of dull, but fits the mood of the game.
~Game Play~: 9/10
The game is a turn-based strategy, in which you buy/start out with troops, tanks, ships, planes, or various other weapons. There is a Fog-of-War option (AKA FoW) which prevents you from seeing the enemy from distances. Different COs have different powers, and different stats, such as Kanbei, who's units cost 20% more, but are 20% more powerful (or around that). You can play with up to four other people, with only one cart if you pass the GBA around. The design maps option is great, and you can trade custome maps with friends! The AI can also be tough, so watch out on Advance Campaign.
~Replay value~: 10/10
Just make sure you have enough friends, that is all I can say.

~Story~: 6/10
The story won't blow you away, though. If I was just attacked and had my troops slaughtered I wouldn't accept my enemy's apology.... if you play the campaign mode you'd understand what I mean.
OVERALL: 8/10
Just buy this game, renting is not necessary. However, you may want to play a friend's cart ahead of time, because some people don't like turn-based game, which tend to last a long time.
